My CV says Head of Marketing. It doesn't mention the choir, the dive off Havelock Island, or the half of my salary that goes straight to Swiggy.
This is the version with all of that in it.
I started
2013: a B.Com. Then an M.Com, because one commerce degree wasn't confusing enough. St. Xavier's gave me the subject, and in 2022, the Fr. Lafont Scholarship for sticking around beyond the classroom. In 2026, I added an ACIM from the UK's Chartered Institute of Marketing — now working toward Chartered Marketer status over the next two years. Still not done being a student.
I build
Nobody was tracking a single campaign, lead, or rupee of spend when I walked into AVI Global Plast. Now I run the function, reporting to the Managing Director, built the same way I build everything: my first move when someone says it can't be done is to sit down and prove them wrong. Across AVI, Maheeta, and Senrysa, that's meant GTM strategy, sales enablement, and ABM for ninety-plus accounts, Amazon and Walmart included.
I lead. But don't take my word for it.
I could tell you I lead well. Or you could hear it from the people who've worked for me, with me, and as my clients.
I serve
Turns out the leading instinct shows up here too. 2017: I joined JTM India, walking young people through faith, fellowship, and love, not lectures. Since 2016, I've been choir master, one church at a time: St. Teresa's, then Fatima Shrine, then Nativity of Our Lord. I'll always say yes to a talk about the plainest thing I know: how Jesus saved me.
Watch on YouTube →I believe
Grace runs the operation, not competence or hustle. Since 2017, I've written about that in public, plainly, at Of His Glory: the Christian life, worked out one ordinary week at a time.
Read the blog →I write
Some things don't fit a marketing deck or a homily either. Since 2015, they've gone to Starlit Octave instead: poems and lyrics, posted whenever they show up, never on a schedule.
Read the poems →I create
Piano at five, a Trinity Grade 1 exam, and nothing formal since. Everything else, three choirs' worth of harmony, a singing voice, I picked up by ear, inside the choir, actually doing it. Since 2016, it all lives on Of His Glory on YouTube: hymns, originals, and my own increasingly clumsy video edits.
Watch on YouTube →I unwind. Badly, on purpose.
Two wars, every weekend. On the iPad: Call of Duty Mobile, fast and forgiving, built for a lunch break. On the desktop: Hearts of Iron IV, slow and merciless, the only place I get to refight the 20th century one province at a time.
I chase
Stressed, celebrating, or just bored: my answer is always food. Half my salary funds Swiggy and Zomato, and I've made peace with owing them my gratitude. The other half wants altitude: a dive off Havelock, a paraglide over Gangtok, and skydiving I'm still negotiating with myself over.
I wander
Chasing altitude was never the whole story. Three trips a year, minimum, since I was a kid: Niagara Falls, Nathu La Pass, Betla Forest, the Andamans, different continents, same restlessness. If there's a border or a trail I haven't crossed yet, give it time.
People say they've never seen me not smiling
Joyful, collaborative, kind, and quietly obsessed with bringing a room back to peace, while still ambitious enough to make it uncomfortable when it needs to be. I asked an AI to confirm it. It had a full profile ready before I'd finished typing.
Best guess: INTJ (or ENTJ, on the days I'm energized by leading people more than thinking alone)
What's next, what's not
What I actually want to build is technology, AI, product marketing, software that changes how people live. I ended up in manufacturing instead, because of scale: Kolkata's short on big SaaS options. So I'm building it here anyway, with a director who vibe-codes as much as I do: a first real upgrade to our legacy ERP, plus the company's first-ever CRM and project tracker, module by module, still in progress.
What I'm not chasing: a new title, until this ships.
I tinker
The pull from the last chapter isn't hypothetical. This site: built from scratch with Claude Code and Cowork, no developer, no template. Now I'm building myself a private app, finance, health, whatever else needs tracking, because what I can measure, I can make better. AI-native isn't a deck buzzword for me. It's how I build.
One person. Several rooms. Still becoming.
A builder. A leader. A believer. A choir master. A poet some nights. A gamer on weekends. Permanently one order away from Swiggy. None of it is a side project, it's all the same person, built the same way: on purpose, one system at a time. If it was the work that brought you here, that door's still open.
If it was the person, not just the work, that brought you here: here's everything, in one file.
