Business Context
This launch tested a specific GTM problem: how do you build demand for a category the market doesn't yet understand, on a compressed trade-show timeline, with no existing brand equity to lean on? AVI Global Plast's partnership with Smart Packaging Industries AS to bring Q-Bic to India meant starting from zero — no prior market education, no established distribution, one trade show as the entire launch window. I owned the full go-to-market marketing workstream end to end: positioning, campaign execution, field marketing, trade media, lead qualification, and sales enablement.
Problem
Q-Bic punnets wasn't a product the Indian fresh produce industry already understood — it was a new packaging format that needed education, not just introduction. Exporters, retailers, and produce companies had to be walked through the operational, logistics, and sustainability advantages of a cube-based geometry before they'd see it as anything more than "another punnet." The launch also had to do double duty: build category awareness while simultaneously establishing AVI Global Plast, specifically, as the exclusive Indian manufacturing partner for the system.
Market Opportunity
Fresh Produce India 2026 concentrated the exact audience Q-Bic needed in one place — exporters, growers, retailers, and packaging buyers evaluating their next packaging format ahead of the season. That gave the launch a rare opening: introduce a genuinely differentiated packaging system (2× pallet density, reduced logistics costs, improved shelf visibility, sustainability and rPET compatibility) to a concentrated, decision-ready audience, and convert exhibition interest directly into a qualified commercial pipeline rather than a slow drip of inbound inquiries.
Positioning
Before
Cube-based punnets were an unfamiliar format in India — easy to mistake for "another punnet" if shown as packaging alone.
After
Q-Bic punnets positioned as a complete packaging system — cube geometry, 2× pallet density, and logistics and sustainability gains, with AVI Global Plast as its exclusive Indian manufacturing partner.
Messaging
Every touchpoint — brochures, leaflets, sales handouts, booth conversations — carried the same value proposition set: cube-based packaging geometry, 2× pallet density, reduced logistics costs, improved shelf visibility, sustainability benefits, and rPET compatibility. The consistency mattered as much as the content: whether a prospect met the Managing Director, the Sales Head, or me on the exhibition floor, the story of what Q-Bic was and why it mattered stayed identical.
Go-to-Market Strategy
Rather than treating the trade show as the launch, I built a five-workstream system that treated it as the midpoint of a longer funnel — pre-launch demand-build, on-floor conversion, and post-launch qualification and nurture, so the pipeline didn't live or die on three days at a booth.
Pre-launch marketing — social media launch announcements, targeted email campaigns, and WhatsApp marketing communicated the launch to existing and prospective customers ahead of the exhibition, alongside brochures, leaflets, sales handouts, and exhibition materials built around Q-Bic's core value propositions.
Trade show activation — Q-Bic was positioned as the primary focus of the exhibition booth, with launch materials and messaging coordinated so the booth read as a complete packaging system, not just another punnet on display.
Product demonstration — recognizing prospects needed to see the packaging in a real-world application, I procured fresh blueberries specifically for live demonstrations and prepared export-ready packaging samples, which measurably improved engagement over displaying empty packaging.
Field marketing — rather than waiting for booth traffic, I actively worked exhibitor booths throughout the show, introducing AVI Global Plast and Q-Bic, identifying decision-makers, and inviting qualified prospects back to the AVI booth for detailed demonstrations.
Lead generation and qualification — I collected and organized exhibition leads, verified incomplete information through online research and direct calls, and supervised interns assisting with lead verification, qualifying prospects into Marketing Qualified Leads before they reached Sales.
Lead nurturing and sales enablement — rather than handing raw contacts to Sales, I ran personalized cold email follow-up campaigns until roughly 15-minute introductory meetings were secured, then transitioned qualified opportunities to the commercial team.
Trade media and PR — I independently identified and pitched relevant international trade publications, securing editorial coverage in FreshPlaza and Asiafruit and extending the launch's visibility well beyond exhibition attendees.

Cross-Functional Collaboration
The launch required coordination across marketing, sales, leadership, manufacturing, and communications. I worked closely with the Managing Director, Sales Head, and Sales team on booth presence and demonstrations; the internal Marketing and Design teams on collateral and campaign execution; a team of interns on lead verification and qualification; Smart Packaging Industries AS as the technology partner behind Q-Bic; and international trade media on launch coverage.

Business Outcomes
The launch successfully introduced Q-Bic to the Indian market through an integrated go-to-market program combining digital marketing, field marketing, product demonstrations, demand generation, public relations, and sales enablement. It positioned AVI Global Plast as the Indian manufacturing partner for Q-Bic, generated qualified commercial interest, built a pipeline of Marketing Qualified Leads, secured editorial coverage in leading international fresh produce publications, and handed the Sales team qualified meetings and commercial opportunities following the exhibition — rather than an unfiltered stack of exhibition business cards.
Lessons Learned
Three things I'd carry into any category-creation launch: proof beats explanation — a live demo let buyers experience the product instead of being told about it, which is the difference between education and persuasion. Demand generation has to be systematized, not booth-dependent — treating the show floor as one stage in a funnel, not the whole funnel, is what turned foot traffic into a real pipeline. And qualification is a marketing responsibility, not a sales problem — building the MQL layer before handoff meant Sales opened every conversation already warm, which is the repeatable part of this system worth applying to the next unfamiliar-category launch.
